I had the pleasure of capturing this exact vibe as a wedding photographer Cologne for Sunny and Fabian. Fabian, a Cologne native, met his wife Sunny during college in the United States. They chose his hometown to celebrate a beautiful, bilingual wedding with family and friends from all over the world.
First Look at the Hyatt Hotel Deutz
My day started at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Deutz with absolute goosebumps. We began with a wonderful American tradition, the first look between the bride and her father. Seeing Sunny in her wedding dress for the first time brought the first happy tears of the day and created an incredibly intimate moment.
Right after, Sunny and Fabian shared their own first look on the banks of the Rhine. With the winter backdrop and a view of the Cathedral, the two enjoyed a quiet moment entirely to themselves before the festivities began.
Bilingual Ceremony at the Chocolate Museum
We then crossed the river to the iconic Chocolate Museum in the Rheinauhafen, a perfect urban setting right by the water. Since the guests were a mix of German and English speakers, the ceremony was completely bilingual. It was a celebration full of laughter, tears of joy, and genuine words.
